Founded in 1987 and officially established in 1989, MQ Lightings Enterprises, Inc. (now known as MQ Group) began primarily in the lamp business. During its first year, the company identified a market need for a reputable supplier of professional equipment for the film and broadcast industry. Drawing on extensive experience gained from working with prestigious pioneers in the field, our founders set out to fill this gap. MQ Group takes great pride in sourcing the latest equipment and technology from top manufacturers in Europe and the USA, ensuring that the local film and production industries remain informed about the latest global advancements. We are dedicated to meeting the high standards of lighting designers and consultants, filmmakers, cinematographers, directors of photography (DOPs), broadcast engineers, and other industry professionals.
Our Milestones
1990
In 1990, MQ Group held its first exhibit, showcasing the latest ARRI lighting technology at the former Philippine International Convention Center (PHILCITE). This milestone event was followed by continuous introductions of professional film cameras, lighting, dollies, cranes, underwater camera casings, video assist systems, and various other camera and lighting products
1993
By 1993, MQ Group had undertaken its first TV studio lighting project. We supplied and spearheaded the planning, design, installation, and commissioning of a complete studio lighting suspension, dimming, and lighting facilities for one of the largest TV stations in the country.
1993 TO PRESENT
Since 1993, MQ Group has been a leading supplier of professional lighting, introducing the latest technologies—from daylight fixtures to LED solutions. Expanding beyond lighting, we offer grips, riggings, and camera support, pioneering Steadicam™, Ewa Marine underwater casings, world-class dollies, and cranes.
Now in our 37th year, we’ve completed 23 large-scale TV studios, 30+ theaters, stages, and auditoriums, as well as numerous bars, clubs, and museums. As a trusted system integrator, we deliver turnkey solutions, including design, supply, installation, commissioning, and training.
